Mr. Steinmetz has been practicing law since 1990. He was a prosecuting attorney for 3.5 years, doing over 65 jury trials handling major felonies such as attempted murder, major assaults and drug cases. After that, Mr. Steinmetz went into private practice defending those accused of crimes, focusing on DUI and major felonies including drug crimes, sex crimes and assaults. Mr. Steinmetz has served as the staff attorney to the Washington State Senate Judiciary Committee and was the Director of Government Relations for a long-term care trade association. In 2003, Mr. Steinmetz returned to private practice focusing on criminal defense and health care providers licensing defense. Mr. Steinmetz is currently the Co-Chair of the Criminal Law Section of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association. He is an active member in the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Washington Defender Association. | |
